Overview
When the Require Geofence to Punch setting is enabled in System Settings, all employees will be required to be assigned to a geofence in order to punch in or out using the mobile app.
If an employee is not assigned to a geofence, they will be unable to clock in or out.
In cases where a specific employee should be exempt from this requirement, you can override the geofence setting within their employee profile.
How to Exempt an Employee from Geofencing
- Navigate to the Employees section.
- Locate and select the employee you would like to update.
- Click the Access tab at the top of the page.
- Next to Allow Login to Mobile, click Details.
- Under Geofence Requirements, select Do not require Geofence.
- Click Save and Exit.
Result
The selected employee will no longer be required to be within a geofence to punch in or out using the mobile app.
Important Notes
- When Require Geofence to Punch is enabled, all employees must either:
- Be assigned to a geofence, or
- Have the geofence requirement overridden in their profile.
- This override only applies to the selected employee and does not impact other employees in the system.
