There are some environmental and weather conditions that may influence the reception of the atomic radio signal. The Atomic radio signal can be disrupted by heavy metallic building structure or heavy electrical wiring. The WWVB Signal Readability could be unreadable in a specific time zone.
Ensure the correct Time Zone is set:
By default, the 1600E unit is shipped preset to Eastern Time. It may be necessary to update the unit to the correct time zone.
1. Remove the top cover from the clock.
2. Press the SELECT button and position the mark at the "TIME ZONE". At that moment, the flashing digit indicates "Order Options" of the time zone for atomic clock function. (The flashing number means it can be changed.)
3. Press the CHANGE button to select the correct time zone listed in the image below.
4. After you finish setting the time zone, press the SET button once again. Now the time zone setting has been completed. Replace the cover and lock.
The Time Zone is set correctly but the time is still jumping:
If the time on the 1600E still jumps after the correct time zone has been set, it could be possible that the atomic radio is disrupted or the WWVB Signal can be unreadable in your specific time zone. The 1600E has a feature to only sync the minutes and seconds via the atomic radio, and leave the hour settings up to the DST settings preprogrammed in the clock.
1. Remove the top cover from the clock.
2. Press the SELECT button and position the mark at the "TIME ZONE". At that moment, the flashing digit indicates "Order Options" of the time zone for atomic clock function. (The flashing number means it can be changed.)
4. Press the CHANGE button to select option 5 for other.
5. After you finish setting the time zone, press the SET button once again. Now the time zone setting has been completed. Replace the cover and lock.
