Overview
The installation process for the PayClock Agent has not changed when using a User Identity. The PayClock Agent is still downloaded and installed through the Setup Assistant. However, the login process has changed for users who have been converted to a User Identity.
This article explains how to install the PayClock Agent and how to log in using a User Identity.
Installing the PayClock Agent
- Click Here to download the Setup Assistnat
- Run the Setup Assistant and follow the on-screen prompts to install the PayClock Agent.
The download and installation process is the same as previous versions and requires no additional steps for User Identity accounts.
New User Identity Login Method
Users who have been converted to a User Identity will now use:
- Email Address
- Password
The email address associated with the User Identity replaces the username.
In most cases, the Company ID is not required when logging into the PayClock Agent.
When is the Company ID Required?
The Company ID is only required when setting up integrations that could be associated with multiple PayClock Online accounts.
Examples include:
- QuickBooks Desktop integrations
- FR Series clock setups
Providing the Company ID ensures the PayClock Agent connects to the correct PayClock Online account.
Important: If the Company ID is not entered, the PayClock Agent will connect to the user's default PayClock Online account. This may result in the Agent being associated with the wrong account if the User Identity has access to multiple PayClock Online accounts.
Multiple Account and Agent Requirements
The PayClock Agent can only be associated with one PayClock Online account at a time.
If your User Identity has access to multiple PayClock Online accounts, each account must have its own PayClock Agent installation running on a separate computer or in a separate location. Multiple PayClock Online accounts cannot share the same PayClock Agent.
For example, if Account A and Account B each require a QuickBooks Desktop or FR Series clock integration, Account A must use its own PayClock Agent installation and Account B must use a separate PayClock Agent installation on another computer.
Attempting to use a single PayClock Agent for multiple PayClock Online accounts is not a supported configuration.
Important Notes
- Always use the email address associated with the User Identity in place of the username.
- Users who have not yet been converted to a User Identity will continue to log in using the traditional credentials: Company ID, Username, and Password.
- If the User Identity has access to multiple PayClock Online accounts, enter the Company ID when prompted to ensure the correct account is selected.
- The PayClock Agent installation process itself has not changed; only the login credentials have been updated for User Identity users.
