LT Series Time Recorders have an imprint surface, or Print Platen Assembly, that helps to produce high-quality imprints. While the Print Platen Assembly normally has a prolonged usage expectency, there may be times where it needs to be replaced. To replace it:
- Disconnect the power source.
- Remove the top cover.
- Remove the Frame Locking Pin. See the user guide for a diagram.
- Lift the Top Frame to access the Ribbon.
- Pull the Front Spool Plunger Knob away from unit.
- While holding the knob, slide the Front Ribbon Spool to the left and out.
- Release the Front Spool Plunger Knob.
- Pull the Rear Spool Plunger Knob away from unit.
- While holding the knob, slide the Rear Ribbon Spool to the left and out.
- Release the Rear Spool Plunger Knob.
- Remove the old Print Platen Assembly.
- Insert the new Print Platen Assembly, using the guide pin for alignment.
- Pull the Front Spool Plunger Knob and position the new ribbon with the Front Spool Plunger. Align the spool with the posts on the ribbon spindle shaft and the spool plunger.
- Release the Front Spool Plunger Knob.
- Pull the Rear Spool Plunger Knob and position the new ribbon with the Rear Spool Plunger. Align the spool with the posts on the ribbon spindle shaft and the spool plunger.
- Release the Rear Spool Plunger Knob.
- Set the date and time or numbering for the LT Series Time Recorder.
- Close the Top Frame and insert the Frame Locking Pin, positioning the pull ring down and inside the case.
- Attach the Top Cover, fitting the Top securely into the grooves in the main frame case.
- Lock the Top Cover in place.
- Connect the power source.
