Lathem Time Corporations' Mechanical Recorders are ideal for payroll time or job costing. To set the time on a mechanical clock, the clock model and how it prints must be determined. To set the punch date and time on a mechanical clock:
- Unlock the case cover and pull it forward to remove it. Wait until the clock "click".
- Press either side of the Type Section Headlock to unlock the clock face from the frame.
- Pull upward on the lower part of the clock face until the Type Section locks in the up position. Review the users guide to see a diagram.
- Make note of the position of the Overthrow Lever and the Setting Wheel.
- Press the red Overthrow Lever toward the back of the clock until it clicks. This releases the wheels allowing them to turn.
- Review the type wheels in respect to the location of the numbers on the wheels.
- Visualize a Center Line where all the type wheels appear to line up in the center of the type section.
- Using a pointed object, rotate each wheel until the correct day/date and time are aligned at the Center Position. Start at the top wheel and work down when setting the time. Refer to the Dial of Decimal Equivalents to determine the setting for tenths and hundredths.
- Rotate the Minute Wheels to show one minute ahead of the current minute.
- Set the Hour Wheel to the current hour.
- Set the Day/Date Wheels to the current day or date.
- Set the time on the clock face.
After setting the date and time, replace and lock the case cover. The timeclock is ready for use.
MECHANICAL CLOCKS DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY ADJUST FOR DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME. THE TIME MUST BE SET MANUALLY WHEN DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME OCCURS. ALSO, THE MONTH AND DATE WHEELS MUST BE RESET MANUALLY AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH MONTH. MECHANICAL CLOCKS DO NOT CHANGE THE MONTH AUTOMATICALLY. |
