The Button Functions on the 7000E can be configured to allow employees to press IN or OUT before inserting the card. This is primarily done when the employee works longer than the Max In Value or to prevent an E-52 error on the display. To set the button functions:
- Insert the key into the Top Cover and turn it 1/4 turn to unlock the cover.
- By holding the left and right sides, lift the Top Cover up.
- Press and hold the FUNCTION button for 3 seconds.
- When the unit beeps, release the FUNCTION
- Press the FUNCTION button and move the indicator mark next to Button Function.
- Press the CHANGE button to choose a setting.

- Press SET to save the change.
- Press SET again to exit the Programming Mode.
