Hourly Rounding on the 7500E is relatively simple. The 7500E totals the amount of time between punches and round the total to the nearest time interval used based on the Breakpoint. The Breakpoint is number of minutes that will determine if the punch rounds forward or backward.
- 6 Minute 3 Breakpoint - will round the total hours to the nearest 1/10 hour.
- 15 Minute 3 Breakpoint - will round the total hours to the 1/4 hour.
- 15 Minute 7 Breakpoint - will round the total hours to the nearest 1/4 hour.
For example, If an employee works from 8:07AM to 4:37PM, the total time between 8:07AM and 4:37PM is exactly 8 Hours 30 Minutes. If the punches were 8:00AM and 4:38PM, the total would be 8 Hours 38 Minutes. With Hourly Rounding:
- Using 6 Minute 3 Breakpoint, the total hours would be 8 Hours 36 Minutes.
- Using 15 Minute 3 Breakpoint, the total hours would be 8 Hours 30 Minutes.
- Using 15 Minute 7 Breakpoint, the total hours would be 8 Hours 45 Minutes.
Punch Time Rounding on the 7500E works differently. On an IN Punch, the Breakpoint is counted forward from the beginning of the time interval to determine how the punch will round. On an OUT Punch, the Breakpoint is counted backward from the end of the time interval to determine how the punch will round. See more information in documents attached to this article.
