The Sonachron has an internal battery backup to keep the programming and time/date displayed on the timer. However, when the timer is powered solely by the battery and not receiving AC power, the bell ringing functions cannot operate. If an asterisk * appears between the day of the week and the date, it is not receiving power. If the unit is connected to AC Power, the internal power switch may be in the OFF position. To verify the power switch position:
- Remove the left panel.
- Slide the front panel to the left.
- Locate the power switch.
- Flip it to the ON or up position.
- Slide the Front Panel to the right.
- Maneuver the cable so the power switch is not pushed to the off position.
- Replace the left panel.
After the DWA-S is reassembled, press the Manual button on the Sonachron. If the Security Code is programmed, enter the Security Code first. The relay within the timer should make an audible click sound. If the clicking is heard but the bells/buzzers are still not ringing, there may be an issue with the wiring from the Sonachron to the bells, the bells do not have their own power source or the 8 Amp fuse has have failed and should be replaced. The DWA-S does not supply power to the bells. For further assistance, contact our Technical Support Department at 404-691-1064.
