The 5000E Plus has an Optional Backup Battery that keeps the 5000E Plus operational for up to 24 hours in the event of a power outage. The Optional Backup Battery is in a state of recharging when the time recorder is running on AC Power. To install the battery:

1. Remove the top cover. 2. Locate the Compartment Connector near the Reset Switch. 3. Connect the Battery Connector to the Compartment Connector. 4. Seat the battery in the compartment. 5. Place and lock the top cover into place. |

When completed, the unit should be ready for operational use.
