The PC600 can be set with a dynamic IP Address (using DHCP) or a static IP Address, programmed in to the network setup. An IP Address conflict on Local Area Network exists if a PC600 displays:
The system has detected a conflict for statically assigned IP Address [IP ADDRESS] and the system with the hardware address [HARDWARE MAC ADDRESS]. The local interface will remain active, but problems may occur.
If using a static IP Address, the static IP Address must be unique on the network. If the PC600 is displaying this message, determine if the PC600 IP Address is in use:
- Disconnect the PC600 from the network.
- Determine what IP Addresses are in use.
Note: Tech Support cannot be responsible for assigning IP Addresses. - Press Admin on the PC600.
- Enter the PIN Number. The default PIN is 9 9 9 9 9.
- Press Network Setup.
- Press IP Address.
- Enter an IP Address that is NOT in use.
If the PC600 does not have a unique IP Address, it is possible that PayClock cannot poll or sync with the terminal. It could be possible that data loss can occur as a result of the IP Address conflict.
