Connecting a FaceIn Directly To A Network Interface Card

The FaceIN terminal communicates through an Ethernet connection. If there isn't a network setup, the FaceIN can be connected directly to a computer's Network Interface (NIC) Card. To do so:

1. Open the Properties of the NIC Card and the Internet Protocol settings.
2. Define the IP (10.0.1.1) and Subnet Mask (255.0.0.0).
3. Connect the Ethernet cable to the computer and the FaceIN.
4. At the FaceIN terminal, Press MENU on the keypad.
5. If an Admin was setup, the Admin's face must be presented.
6. On the Functions Menu, press 4 - System Setting.
7. On the System Setting menu, press 2 - Set Network.
   
   Leading zeroes are required on the FaceIN Terminal.
8. Enter 010.000.001.002 for the IP Address.
9. Press OK.
10. Enter 255.000.000.000 for the Input Mask Code.
11. Press OK.
12. Leave the Gateway blank.
13. Press OK.
    
    The FaceIN terminal should restart automatically.
14. In the PayClock software, click on the Terminal Manager tab.
    
    The Auto Discovery feature does not work on an FaceIN Terminal.
15. Click the Add Terminal button
16. Select FaceIN.
17. Enter the IP address given to the FaceIN in the Device IP Address field.
18. Click Save.
19. Click the Test Connection button to verify the communications.
